Basic fields

Basic fields are the building blocks that make up the standard field types in HTML, on iOS®, and on Android™. You can use basic fields to account for any purpose not supported by Smart fields.

Each field type allows you to include and customize various options for the field. Required options must be completed for the form, while optional ones may be included when relevant or otherwise omitted from your form. Each specific field type also has its own configurable options.

  • Text
    Selecting or dragging the Text option onto your form in the form builder places an input area where users can enter a single line of text.
  • Text area
    Selecting or dragging the Text area option onto your form in the form builder places an input area where users can enter several lines of text.
  • Dropdown
    Selecting or dragging the Dropdown option onto your form in the form builder places a drop-down menu where users can make a single selection from the choices you provide.
  • Checkboxes
    Selecting or dragging the Checkboxes option onto your form in the form builder places a checkbox function where users can make selections from the options you provide.
  • Multiple choice
    Selecting or dragging the Multiple choice option onto your form in the form builder places a list of radio buttons on the form where users can make a single selection from the choices you provide.
  • Number
    Selecting or dragging the Number option onto your form in the form builder places an input area where users can enter numbers.
  • Masked
    Selecting or dragging the Masked option onto your form in the form builder places an input area where end users can enter numbers or letters, but the numbers or letters appear masked on the screen.
  • Upload
    Selecting or dragging the Upload option onto your form in the form builder results in an area where end users can upload files to the form.
