Recovering a Banno Online account
Use these steps to recover a Banno Online account if the end user has forgotten their credentials.
- At the sign-in screen, select Forgot? beneath the Username and Password fields.

Complete the Username and Email
fields.
Tip: Select Try another way to recover the account using SSN and account number. Employer Identification Number (EIN) and Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) are also accepted. Completion of this task results in a two-factor-authentication (2FA) notification.
- After entering the account recovery information, select Next.

Choose a situation and follow the corresponding steps.
Situation Steps The end user is not an existing Banno user and does not have NetTeller or Symitar credentials. - Complete the enrollment process when the app presents the enrollment screen.
The end user is not an existing Banno user, but has NetTeller or Symitar credentials. - Complete the information in the Email and Phone fields.
- Select Next.
The end user is an existing Banno user and is enrolled in 2-step verification. - Enter the 2-step code sent via text message, phone call, email, Authy, or Symantec™ VIP token.
- Select Verify.
The end user is an existing Banno user, but is not enrolled in two-factor authentication. - Complete the information in the Email and Phone fields.
- Select Next.
Note: Your institution needs a Secure Tokens contract with Jack Henry to use Symantec™ VIP tokens as a 2-step verification method. -
Choose a situation and follow the corresponding steps.
Situation Steps End user selects Sign in. - Return to the sign-in screen.
- Enter end user's credentials.
End user selects Reset password. - Create a new password.
- Select Update.

Read the user agreement, and then select Accept.
The Dashboard screen appears. On the end user's Activity screen in People, the account recovery is recorded as an event and shows the method used to recover the account.
