Multi-factor authentication
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) provides a means for users in core-connected banks to receive an additional layer of security for certain higher-risk actions taken in the app.
CAUTION:
Hold on! We'd like you to know that two-factor authentication using
security questions is no longer supported. We encourage all institutions to contact us so that
we can help you transition to out-of-band authentication as your second factor of
authentication instead. We're happy to help you transition and avoid audit issues. To start
this process, create a jSource case on the For Clients site.
The mobile app uses online banking security questions to provide an additional layer of security for users.
Note: Based on your institution's
implementation, you might not use MFA in your app. Create a jSource case on the For Clients site for any questions.
Presentment
Banno Mobile requires users to answer security questions when adding a bill payee.
Enrollment
When a user enrolls in Banno Mobile, the app attempts to import existing security questions from NetTeller. If Banno Mobile cannot locate existing security questions from NetTeller, the user creates security questions.
