Updating Android™ application keys

Follow these steps to update your Android™ application keys by using your Banno Enterprise platform and the Google™ Play Developer console.

  1. Log in to your Banno Enterprise platform and select People.
  2. Select Settings > App Keys.
  3. To check your App Integrity settings within Google™ Play, go to the Google Play Developer Console and log in using your owner credentials.
    Checking your App Integrity settings determines if you move on to complete Option A Opt in to Play App Signing or Option B provide Banno with information about your signing key from Google.
  4. Select your Banno application.
  5. In the menu on the left, go to Setup > App Integrity.
    The Play App Signing webpage opens.

    If Opt in to Play Signing appears, follow the steps for Option A Opt in to Play App Signing.

    If Google is managing your app signing key and App signing key certificate appear, follow the steps for Option B provide Banno with information about your signing key.
    Note: Complete either Option A or Option B, not both.
  6. Follow the steps that best fit your situation.
    Situation Steps
    Opting in to Play App Signing via Option A
    1. Go to the People page in Banno.
    2. Select Download keys to download your SigninKey.pepk and UploadKey.pem key files.
      Note: The key files either download automatically, or you are prompted to download the two key files. If prompted, select Save File for each prompt.
    3. In the Opt in to Play Signing webpage, select Export and upload a key from Java keystore.
    4. Under step 3, select Upload private key.
    5. Choose the SigningKey.pepk that you previously downloaded.
    6. Select Save.
      Note: The page updates to display lines of data labeled fingerprint. This page means that the upload was successful.
    7. To finalize the setup, go to the People page in Banno and select Migration Complete.
      Note: The message Android application keys upgrade completed. No further action required appears.
    8. Securely delete the SigninKey.pepk and UploadKey.pem keys from your computer.
    Providing Banno with information about your signing key via Option B
    1. On the App signing key certificate webpage, select Download certificate.
      Note: The certificate file either automatically downloads, or you are prompted to download the certificate file. If you’re prompted, select Save File and then OK.
    2. Go to the People page of Banno.
    3. Select Choose file.
    4. Search and select the file deployment_cert.der that you downloaded from the Google™ Console.
      Note: This file is in the Downloads folder of your computer.
    5. Select Open.
    6. Select Submit.
    7. The message Android application keys upgrade completed. No further action required appears.
