Reverting a page to a previous version

By visiting the Page history screen, you can find a previous version of the page and revert to those changes.

CAUTION:
The revert option appears only on the history for an individual page, which contains the last 20 modifications to the page. Pages cannot be automatically reverted to versions older than 20 revisions.

Reverting affects individual content areas on your page, rather than the page as a whole. This means you won't lose new content areas that you've created after the version you'd like to revert to. Content areas revert to the oldest version available between its current version and the version you’re reverting the page to, and any new areas between the two versions remain in place.

The revert feature works even if a page was never published.

  1. Select Content > Pages > More > View history.
Any changes on Page history that can be reverted back to are marked with Revert to this version of your page.
  2. Select Revert to this version of your page next to a page version you'd like to use to revert changes to.

The Page history screen shows a timeline of up to twenty of the most recent page activities. Go to Activities to see all the history for this page. In the list of page activities on Page history, some options have an option to revert to this version of your page.

A page editor appears with the content from the selected version automatically filled in.
  3. Review the page and make any changes as necessary.
    CAUTION:
If you revert a page that has a Shared content area, any changes to that Shared content area also affect all other pages that use the shared content area. If you don't want other pages using that shared content to be impacted by your change, you can select Remove from group on the shared content area to separate it from other pages.
  4. Choose an option.
    • Select Save to save your changes with the currently viewed version.
    • Select Publish to immediately publish changes to the currently viewed version.
The page is reverted to the previous version, and a page history event is created stating that the page was modified.
