Working check exceptions

If a posted check does not match the record, an organization user can work exceptions to decide to pay or return issued checks during a set time frame each day.

The bank sets the time frame that you can work exceptions, and Banno displays the time frame at the top of the Work exceptions screen. Once the time frame passes, the exceptions are locked, and you cannot work them.
Note: The bank determines if unworked exceptions are paid or returned by default.
  1. Navigate to Positive pay.
  2. Select ""Work exceptions.
If there are no exceptions, the No check exceptions accounts message appears. If there are check exceptions, the Work exceptions screen opens. The Work exceptions screen displays exceptions from the first account that contains exceptions. The accounts are ordered alphabetically by account name.
  3. Select the checks that you want to pay for that account by selecting the check boxes in the Pay column.
Each check in the list displays the check's amount, payee, status, check number, and exception reason.
  4. If needed, select a check number to view the check's details.
The Check details screen opens. On the Check details screen, you can view and print check details and images for the selected check, and you can use Ask us about this check to start a Messages chat with the bank.
Tip: Refer to work exceptions documentation for more information about Check details.
  5. Select the Account to select another account to work check exceptions.
The Select account screen opens and lists accounts with exceptions. Banno displays the number of exceptions each account has. A green checkmark indicates the account that is selected.
  6. Select an account.
You can search for accounts by account name, the last four digits of the account, or the available funds in the account. You can filter by account type.
Once you select an account, you are directed to the Work exceptions screen for the selected account.
  7. Continue to select the Pay check boxes to decide which checks to pay for each account with check exceptions.
  8. Select Submit once you have reviewed all exceptions.
A notification displays Check exceptions submitted, and you are redirected to the Positive pay dashboard.
