Feeling a little spring in our steps

The days are slowly but surely getting longer and spring is just around the corner! I don't know about everyone else, but I am very excited to say adios to winter.

Our teams have been grinding especially hard with our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) migration prep, all the while keeping our product roadmaps moving as quickly as we can. Lots of great information included this month, so make sure to pay close attention. 🕵️

Upcoming migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

🎶 Movin' on up! 🎶

As we’ve already communicated in the Digital Monthly Meetups and SLAs we've sent, our upcoming Banno Digital Platform™ migration to GCP is right around the corner. On March 10, our teams will be all hands on deck moving our operations from Azure cloud regions to the new GCP regions.

This transition includes all the services and functions you love about Banno, from Banno Online and Banno Mobile to the Content Management System (CMS) and associated front-end websites, plus all the apps linked with Please note that our timeline is flexible and may be adjusted if we encounter any unexpected bumps along the way.

Why are we moving?

Remember what this migration is all about: Taking things up a notch! Our partnership with Google brings extended capabilities and stability through GCP, which means we can make your Banno experience even better. This includes increased uptime and faster deployments. Plus, this shift further strengthens our readiness for anything — from natural disasters to tech hiccups to cyber attacks, we've got you covered.

Be certain to keep an eye out for further communication; once the migration is complete, you’ll be the first to know. Better mark your calendars now. The move is just around the corner!

Finally, don't forget to register for our next Digital Banking Meetup on March 8, where we will of course discuss the migration again.

New feature for Banno Business™ • Banno Online™

Positive Pay Check Images

Your patience has paid off! We are happy to share that now when your business users view their Positive Pay check exception details, they'll be able to see images for each of those checks. When available, thumbnail images of the front and back of the check will display on the details screen. Not to mention, they can click into check images for a zoomed-in view and even print copies for their records.

Note: This is available to our business banking customers only.

Be fraud aware!

As much as we wish it would disappear, fraud is definitely here to stay. So it's always a good idea to ensure that your authentication settings for Treasury Management are configured to prevent as much bogus account activity as possible.

With over 25 risk points that can be challenged with either a one-time-password or secure token, there are plenty of ways to help protect your users from fraudulent account activity. Revisit those settings today! Just open Treasury Management Back Office, click the Configuration menu, and select Authentication Profiles.

New feature • Banno Mobile™ for Android

Privacy policy link on Android

As we announced previously, Google requires all of its apps to prominently display their privacy policy in easily accessible areas for users who haven't logged in (unauthenticated spaces).

We will be releasing a minor version bump for Banno Mobile 3.10 [specific to Android] soon in which you will see a prominent link to your financial institution's privacy policy displayed in those unauthenticated sections of your app. This is the same link that your end users currently see within your app's user agreements. There's no need for any configuration on your end.

However, to prevent your app from being rejected during the review process, it's crucial to ensure that your privacy policy is up to date and meets Google's latest requirements. You can find more information about these requirements on Google's Policy Center.

Please review and update your privacy policy as soon as possible to avoid any potential issues.

Along with Estatement enrollment prompt and Segmented messages features noted above, we released numerous other new features and enhancements for your end users and institution staff last month.

Head to For Clients to read the latest Banno Release Notes and Treasury Management Release Notes to see what's newly available!

Segmented message in action.

Boost engagement and drive statement enrollment

Have you taken advantage of our latest features built to improve engagement and statement enrollment? Check out the highlights below and then dive in:

Estatement enrollment prompt

Maximize your Estatement enrollment by enabling the prompt today!

If your institution is utilizing our native documents display and enrollment configuration – and many of you now are given our recent switch from the ESI SSO to the API-integrated option – you can take advantage of the Estatement enrollment prompt. All you need to do is flip the switch!

More details on native statements and instructions for enabling the prompt are available on the Knowledge Base.

Segmented messages

As of January, we introduced segmented messages, an incredible way to increase engagement with your accountholders. You are no longer limited to sending messages to an entire user base. Now, you have the ability to send messages to segments of users; such as business users, users above a certain credit threshold, new account holders, users who haven’t logged on in a while, or nearly any segment you can dream up!

Visit our Knowledge Base to view updated Messages documentation and familiarize yourself with our user Segments documentation.

Toolkit Corner: Improved docs search

You asked, and we listened. We’ve improved the search feature in the Digital Toolkit Docs to include search results for search terms which only appear within API spec file definitions.

Previously, if a developer searched for a term such as "running balance" which appears in an API spec but doesn't appear within the surrounding prose, then that term would not be found.

Now, if a developer searches for the same term, they'll see search results which point to API spec file definitions.

Heads up • Banno Mobile™

Mobile version 3.11 release update

Originally expected to hit app stores in early March, Banno Mobile version 3.11 will be delayed until the early April timeframe. We've decided to push it out one release cycle as we continue to focus on testing for our upcoming move to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The features included in Mobile version 3.11 include support for credit union ACH, the ability to edit and delete wires, and more that we'll announce soon!

Treasury Management modal message.

Modal & Banner Messages

As announced on February 14, you can now communicate with your Treasury customers in two new ways—via a modal message or via a banner message.

Pro Tip: For especially urgent matters, you can use both message options.

After some quick configuration updates in Treasury Management Back Office, these messages will display on top of the Dashboard as well as in the Information widget (modal) or at the top of the Dashboard (Banner) when the user logs in.

For details on this exciting new feature, check out the Banner & Modal Messages QRG!

Coming soon • Banno Mobile™ & Banno Online™

Modify Zelle® enrollment profile

If your end users are enrolled with Zelle and have ever found themselves wanting to change the account associated with their profile or needing to delete a registered token, we're pleased to let you know that soon that wish will become a reality!

Soon, end users will no longer need to contact your financial institution to change the account associated with their Zelle email address or phone number or to delete the token altogether. Once this self-serve feature is live, end users can make such profile changes directly — from the Zelle area of your banking app.

Stay tuned to upcoming statements for rollout details, which we'll share once the feature is battle tested and ready to release.

Power up your PowerOns:
CD Renew PowerOn

We have made a couple of recent enhancements to the CD Renew PowerOn that your credit union may be interested in:

  • The maturity date will now display to users regardless of whether the user is eligible to change their maturity option.
  • The maturity options that the user has to select from are now soft text. You can label those how you would like.

If you are interested in installing or upgrading the CD Renew PowerOn, please submit a Support case on the For Clients portal.
