New permissions in Banno settings, changing page address, & skip payment beta for CUs

Happy fall y'all!

We keep shipping new goodness for your users, your support team, and your marketers; all while we plan our mutual future.

With SEC in the rear view mirror, I look forward to seeing many of you at JAC this month! Come see me and many of the lovely people I work with at the TechConnect and drop by my session on Tuesday morning to hear (and see) where we're going together.

Skip payment for CUs (beta)

Just in time for the holidays, we're releasing the ability to let your members skip a payment on eligible loans. Your members will be able to walk through the skip payment process from Banno Mobile or Banno Online.

We have identified a handful of beta testers to help us get skip payment ready for prime time and will let you know when it's widely available.

New permissions in Banno Settings

In a series of phases we are giving a facelift to Settings in Banno.com which will include some additional controls. We are giving you more power to control management of Banno People℠ for all user and financial institution settings. You’ll still be able to grant full management access with a single click, but we are introducing more granular controls to allow or restrict each permission for each user.

Our first enhancement, available on October 7th to everyone, will allow for managing user-level external transfer settings. Additional permissions will be announced as they are released.

Cash user password management

NetTeller® cash management users will soon be able to change their passwords within Banno apps. If you currently support the ability for users to change passwords this feature will require no additional configuration. If you have Banno Online or have our status checks enabled, cash users with passwords that require changing will be prompted to set a new password right after signing in.

This update to password management for cash management users will ship later this month.

If you don't currently support password management for your users and would like to, please reach out and we’ll start the process with you.

Enhancement • Apps & Support

Send feedback via Conversations

Sometimes things go wrong. Starting now, if Conversations is enabled and a user taps the ‘Send feedback’ option within Banno Mobile, a new conversation with device logs attached will be started. This eliminates having to send and receive device logs via email. We hope this helps streamline the support process!

Changes to hot 🔥 cards

Many of you with debit cards through JHA have reached out to let us know that showing cards that have been reported lost or stolen shouldn’t stick around in the app forever. We’re letting you know that the week of October 21, we’ll be removing these cards from displaying to users after 30 days of being in that status.

We don’t need you to do anything. This change will take effect for your users automatically after we release an update to our service.

New feature • CMS

Changing page address

We know that your web site is always changing and sometimes it would be really helpful to give a page a new URL. In the past you’d have to recreate all the content to move a page, but soon you’ll be able to do it from the page options menu in the CMS. You can change the URL to match an updated title and category or type in a custom URL of your choosing. You’ll also be able to automatically create a redirect from the old page location so any incoming links continue working.

Notice • Banno.com

Removal of support for Internet Explorer 11 for Banno.com

Banno is announcing the removal of support for Internet Explorer 11 effective March 31, 2020 in all of our administrative applications under Banno.com. We will continue to support IE 11 for Banno Online. If you are currently using IE 11, we recommend you switch to Microsoft Edge or another supported browser.

Microsoft recently announced plans to make Edge available across Windows versions older than 10, including Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1.

After March 31, 2020, new Banno.com functionality may not work in Internet Explorer, and no bugs or cosmetic issues will be fixed for Internet Explorer.

If you have questions about anything you read here, contact support.

Release notes are posted in the ForClients portal in advance of mobile releases and contain a rollup of all client-side changes made to Banno within the period.
