Mobile App UX Design Evolution
Continuing our mobile design modernization effort, here are the changes we are implementing for the Banno Mobile 3.31 release in early February.
iOS – Theming and Icons
In this release, we will continue to adjust our color usage to be more purposeful. This will include less noticeable changes such as the dividers used to separate accounts, and more visible changes such as section titles. This version will also introduce the adoption of Apple’s SF Symbols (designed to integrate their system font). The new SF Symbols will replace our existing Banno icon library – including updates to the Transaction Enrichment category icons (as seen here). The latest version, SF Symbols 7, provides additional flexibility with built-in animations and icon styles. In the future, we will leverage these advantages to enhance brand identity in the app.
Android – Theme Exploration Continued
Our team is continuing to evaluate the future of how Banno Mobile will create and consume app themes on Android to align with Material 3 standards. Implementing this change will ensure the app evolves seamlessly with future changes to Material, and we intend to communicate our strategy as we finish development of 3.31.
Tracking the Evolution
As promised last month, we published the new Mobile UX Design Evolution section on the Knowledge Base early this December. We will keep these pages up to date – complete with sneak-preview images – as plans progress and new versions are released. In other words, you’ll want to visit the Knowledge Base regularly for updates!
